We have taken our first look at the new Britax Dualfix rear facing car seat and here is our review. The Britax Dualfix is a compact rear-facing car seat making it more suitable for small cars or taller parents!
The Dualfix by Britax covers two car seat groups; it is group 0+1 (0-18kgs) in the rear facing position and group 1 (9-18kgs) in the forward facing position.
In our test fitting we found the Dualfix to be as compact as the Cybex Sirona allowing for a average sized adult to be able to continue to use the front seat.
Installation is quick and simple with familiar isofix bayonets which attach with a positive click; green indicators are also displayed when the fit is correct. The seat is pushed back into the vehicle cushion and foot-prop is extended into the footwell of the vehicle. Again a green indicator is displayed once the footprop is correctly positioned.
The main features of the Britax Dualfix is the 90 degree rotation allowing parents to easily access and place the child into the seat, plus should parent wish the Dualfix can be rotated 180 degrees to allow the seat to forward face.
We feel this seat is a little larger than its immediate competitor and at £360 also cheaper. With Britax's excellent build quality we feel this is an excellent seat for parents wanting to rear face past 13kgs.
